Red Ribbon Awards 2016  – 2nd in the Apprenticeship Champion Category

We were thrilled to be joint second in the Apprenticeship Champion Category at the National Red Ribbon Awards on 15th July 2016 held at Wembley Stadium. Receiving the Highly Commended award for the work that we do locally for young people and also for the commitment we have to Apprenticeships was fantastic and again a great team effort. This was even more special as we were secretly nominated, we have no idea who by, but thanks and it’s great to be recognised.

Everyone played their part in this achievement through sharing knowledge, teaching, encouraging and building confidence in young people. This is vitally important not only to their skill development but their wellbeing too. Spending time and encouragement is the key and the Rooftec team delivered. Our ethos to nurture and develop, not only, creates qualified tradesmen but creates young confident individuals who can step in and help fill the drastic skills gap in the industry.

Our three kids, Robbie, Eve and Lexi joined Nicola and I to the event hosted by The Family Business Place. A great night was had by all where we met Bob Wilson OBE, were entertained by the 100 member Rock Choir and enjoyed great company and food.

Behind the scenes our kids play their part in the success of Rooftec by supporting us, helping around the house and understanding that sometimes long hours are required. Hopefully this will inspire them too to go on and succeed in life and who knows maybe even join us in the business one day.

Well done Team Rooftec, we smashed it again.
